Knowledge Gap Among The Youth - Sikh History

Waheguru ji ka khalsa
Waheguru ji ki Fateh

While the mankind was searching for a true meaning of humans existence, Baba Nanak was trying to guide and awake the mankind towards the real meaning of humans' livelihood. It is sad and unfortunate that most of us do not even know 50% of what those great Gurus went through, how they sacrificed their lives and everything in order to spread love, peace and a real meaning to live a worthy life.

Many of us always get a thought in our minds that what is the reason of low popularity of Sikh History among the people, Why our children do not know much about sikhism, why our youth is losing the track of Guru's teachings. Why we are chasing materialistic things and giving up sikh identity by cutting down hair and shaving off beard and mustaches.
The reason is "us" We are the reason for all that. Today, we hardly care if children in our families pay any attention to the holy paath and kirtan while we visit the Gurudwaras. We want to admit our children in good schools and we hardly care if Punjabi and Sikh History will be taught in that school or not. We do not have much time to tell them what sikhs really are and why Sikhism faith was started. When we stand in the crowd we forget that we are the ones who were created to stand apart and at the same time we should feel proud of the fact that we got this life/identity for a purpose which was led by Guru Gobind Singh ji.

If you are a true sikh of the Guru or even if you have one percent respect and love for the Guru, you should never hesitate in spreading the message of Sikhism.

Lets take a pledge, that whenever we witness anything going wrong against the humanity, we should stand up against it and try to spread the love and peace with the help of teachings of our Guru Granth Sahib ji. Please do not make fun of any religion and do not let anyone make fun of your religion, as our Gurus said "Nobody is inferior or superior in this world, every human being is a creation of one almighty god and if he/she is sent on this earth, it is for a reason to live a life spreading peace while helping others"

It is the most difficult task to be pure, leaving all the selfishness. That is why we are called Sikhs, which really means "Learner" or who is constantly learning.
